Hi, my name is Paul MacHenry. I have had a thirty year successful career in the Portland Maine biotechnology industry as a chemist and a researcher.

Since 2019 I have compounded water based cannabidiol (CBD) creams and lotions for my mother and our family who suffer from muscular dystrophy. This is a hereditary disease that causes muscle loss, disability and pain.

I have founded Down East EZ, LLC, a Portland Maine company to offer these creams and lotions to the general public.

The name indicates where we are from (Down East) and how we roll (EZ). The company initials are DEEZ, as in, “DEEZ people want to help.” Or, “We are all DEEZ people now.”

Our two (2) ounce jar of water based cream contains 1200 mg (~2% by weight) of pure US HEMP derived Cannabidiol (CBD) Isolate. Our cream has No ODOR nor THC. It is not greasy and absorbs rapidly into the skin.

We have named this product Renee. Renee means rebirth or reborn. Renee is also my mother’s name. The butterfly, a symbol of rebirth, will be the company logo.

We intend to donate proceeds from every jar sold to the Muscular Dystrophy Association which funds research and assistance for those with this hereditary disease.
